QUALITY

While Miscela d'Oro is a relatively small espresso producer, the Urbano family takes quality processes very seriously. To that end, the company has pursued two international certifications for quality that support the company's commitment to delivering the finest possible product.

UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 Certification

This important certification - also issued by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) - confirms all Miscela d'Oro production, marketing and company administration procedures are controlled and carried out in accordance with international standards for quality practices.

Miscela d'Oro pursued this certification, guaranteed by an external agency, to demonstrate to its customers that a commitment to constant quality processes and improvements was more than just a generic affirmation of good will.

Miscela d'Oro holds itself to the highest international standard for quality operations and this logic drives the daily work of every member of the Miscela d'Oro family.

UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 Certification

Certified sustainable business practices to protect the environment. View ISO 14001

Respect for and conservation of the environment and its resources have become everyone's duty. Miscela d'Oro is aware that any manufacturing activity can generate environmental impact problems.

To guarantee that all procedures that reduce pollution are respected, Miscela d'Oro has subjected all of its business processes to the review and control of an external, international quality standards certification agency - Det Norske Veritas (DNV). This agency inspects, verifies and certifies that Miscela d'Oro's manufacturing waste is sent to specialist waste disposal and recyling companies and that smoke emissions produced by the roasting process are checked to be at or below strict international standards.

Through this certification program, Miscela d'Oro demonstrates to all customers that the coffee it produces does not cause any harm to the environment.

Trivia:

Coffee, introduced into Europe by Arabic traders, was considered by many Roman Catholics to be a drink of infidels.

Not until 1592, when Pope Clement VIII issued an official edict, was it recognized as an official Christian beverage.
